Fun Facts
Agencies and exporters.
Much of our work comes from Bristol's creative agencies. An agency brings us client work, which means the translation goes out under their name rather than ours. Campaign copy is written to be felt, not just understood. Carrying that across is transcreation.
The other half is companies selling abroad. Engineering and aerospace along the M4, manufacturers, software firms, businesses whose first export market has turned into four. The South West is one of only three English regions where goods exports grew in the year to June 2025, while every other English region fell.
Brightlines Translation is a multilingual UK translation agency, formed in 1999. Our team is based in Bath, we have worked with clients across Bristol and the West of England ever since, and we can meet in Bristol by arrangement.

The answers to
your questions
Five questions Bristol clients ask before they start anything. If yours is not here, ask us.
Yes, regularly. Agency work goes out under your name to your client, so the wording has to fit their brand rather than announce ours. Most campaign copy goes through transcreation rather than straight translation, and we handle the marketing, subtitling, voiceover and typesetting alongside it.
No. Our team is based in Bath and we have worked with clients across Bristol and the West of England since 1999. Most projects run over email and calls, but we can meet in Bristol by arrangement.
Yes. Contracts, export documentation and corporate filings are translated by specialist linguists and reviewed before delivery. What certification means depends on who is receiving the document, so we confirm what yours requires before starting. More on our legal translation page.
No. We work with written material only: documents, websites, campaigns, video and audio. Interpreting is a different profession, so if you need someone for a meeting or a hearing, we are not the right supplier.
Creative and marketing agencies, engineering and manufacturing firms along the M4, and SMEs whose first export market has turned into several. We do not publish client names without permission, so ask if you want a reference in your sector.
