Specialist Marketing Translator: Engineering, Manufacturing & Industrial

Introduction
We are accepting applications from freelance marketing translators working from English into European languages, Chinese, Japanese or Arabic, with subject-matter expertise in engineering, manufacturing or industrial sectors. This is not a general technical translation role. We need translators who can handle complex industrial subject matter and produce marketing copy that reads naturally to a technical audience.
The role
You will translate marketing materials including campaign copy, brand messaging, product launch content, website and digital content, trade show materials, case studies and sales enablement content. Clients include industrial OEMs, component manufacturers and engineering firms.
The source material will contain complex processes, precise specifications and engineering logic. Your readers will be engineers, procurement managers and plant directors. They expect accuracy and readability in equal measure.
Requirements
Native-level command of your target language. Proven experience translating marketing content for engineering or manufacturing audiences. Not manuals. Not UI strings. Marketing copy aimed at technical readers.
You need enough engineering literacy to work with the source material without needing it explained. Whether the subject is CNC machining, industrial automation, materials science or fluid dynamics, you should be able to follow the logic and reproduce it clearly in your target language.
Qualifications
A recognised translation qualification or equivalent professional experience. Subject-matter expertise through education, prior in-house roles or a demonstrable track record in the sector. Membership of ITI, CIOL or a comparable professional body is welcome but not essential.
