Introduction
We are accepting applications from freelance marketing translators working from English into European languages, Chinese, Japanese or Arabic, with subject-matter expertise in pharma, medical devices or life sciences. You will translate commercial content aimed at healthcare professionals, procurement specialists and clinical decision-makers. The source material will be dense: complex mechanisms of action, clinical evidence, regulatory nuance. Your readers will understand all of it. They will also notice if you didn't.
The role
You will translate marketing materials including campaign copy, product launch content, HCP-facing website and digital content, conference materials and internal communications for sales teams and medical science liaisons.
The subject matter is demanding. Not just the terminology, but the underlying science, the regulatory context and the commercial logic that connects them. Your audience works with this material daily. They expect a translation that keeps pace with their knowledge.
Requirements
Native-level command of your target language. Proven experience translating marketing content in pharma or life sciences. A solid grasp of the subject matter, not just the language. Enough awareness of your target market's regulatory environment to know when a line of copy is pushing too close to a claim it can't support.
You should be comfortable working with feedback. Pharma copy goes through layers of review. We need translators who treat each round as refinement, not criticism.
Qualifications
A recognised translation qualification or equivalent professional experience. Subject-matter expertise through education, prior in-house roles or a demonstrable track record in the sector. Membership of ITI, CIOL or a comparable professional body is welcome but not essential.
